The House That Caught Fire

Here you have it live with Joshua James and Overton Valley Construction.

I know it may not seem all that live because you’re not hearing my voice, however just know these are the words coming out of my mouth.

So many times, people will say, “well I just don’t know what it’s going to turn out like” or “what kind of work do you guys do?” I tell them we have a motto, “we say what we do and we do what we say” it’s just that simple.

Then a lot of times I will refer them to this project because it was monumental for OVC.

This house caught fire April 17, 2021. By April 20, we had received a phone call and by May we gave them a timeline and a cost breakdown. I told them we would be done by February 2022. The homeowner asked, “Can you be done by Christmas?” I thought for 30 seconds and I said, “yes we can.”

She then said, “how are you going to do that in a pandemic?” I said, “you see that guy up there” she said, “yeah.” I said, “I just believe he’ll take care of it all and if you can believe in him also, we will get through this together.” Needless to say, we finished, December 23, 2021 at 11 PM!

The reason I use this in regards to people asking what the project will look like once completed is most of our clients, if not all, thank us and say how much better it looks than they ever envisioned once completed. As you can see as you flip through these photos start to finish well you can only imagine.

Also note, we had no formal set of blueprints. We only had a drawing layout of the existing house and the addition that they wanted and that was it.

This was a house with baseboard heat. We put a central HVAC system with ducts in it. We put gas lines in it. We put an addition on it with two new bathrooms that had to be replumb with electrical, mechanical, you name it. Moreover, the prints didn’t have the layout dimensions for the new windows and it didn’t have a foundation print. OVC accomplished all of this in this extremely short amount of time without any of that!

We allowed the homeowner to pick out all of her finish products and design her house herself which she did an outstanding job at as well.

As far as the timeline we don’t make promises we can’t keep. As for the rest, well I believe it speaks for itself.

We completely gutted this house taking the roofing system off and when I say roofing system, I mean the entire roof system. Not just the roof.

Enjoy the rest of the photos.
